Client Reflections &
Colleague Endorsements

The stories shared here offer glimpses into different healing journeys, each as unique as the person who lived it. Through creative expression, mind-body connection, and trauma-informed care, our clients have found their paths toward wholehearted living.

I approached Wen a few months after being diagnosed with a terminal condition. She supported me through those times, offering warmth, support, and levity when I required it. Her approach has allowed me to challenge my anxieties and begin a creatively fulfilling journey. I also get to draw rad stuff with her!

I worked with Wen for five years and cannot recommend her enough. I initially connected with her through a trauma-informed program, where we used EMDR to process and heal deep-rooted experiences. Wen has the perfect balance of warmth and professionalism—she is personable, nonjudgmental, and deeply empathetic while also holding firm in her approach. She consistently reminded me of where I was versus where I wanted to be, offering accountability without ever pushing me beyond my capacity. If you’re looking for a therapist who will challenge you while ensuring you feel safe and supported, Wen is an exceptional choice.

Working with Wen has been an incredibly meaningful experience. Since 2018, her trauma-informed approach has created a safe space for growth and healing. Over seven years, therapy has helped me develop healthier relationships, higher self-esteem, and greater self-acceptance. Her flexibility in scheduling both online and in-person sessions has been invaluable. She creatively blends trauma-informed therapy with music therapy, making each session both unique and accessible. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a compassionate and transformative therapy journey!

When I started working with Wen, I was facing challenges in several areas of my life, including relationships and personal well-being. I was struggling with anxiety, self-confidence, and emotional distress. It felt like everything was falling apart, and I didn’t know how to navigate through it.

Wen’s approach made all the difference. She was incredibly flexible, tailoring each session to my needs and making me feel heard and understood. She offered a blend of talk therapy, creative exercises, and EMDR to help me process my emotions and trauma. The fact that we shared a similar cultural background helped me feel even more connected to the process, as she understood where I was coming from on a deeper level.

Over time, I started to regain my confidence and emotional balance. Wen’s kindness, warmth, and professionalism were invaluable to me. I deeply appreciate how she was always willing to adapt to what I needed and how she helped me connect the dots between past experiences and present challenges.

I highly recommend Wen to anyone looking for a compassionate and skilled therapist who will provide personalized care, especially for those seeking a culturally attuned approach.

I started working with Wen, after coming out of a particularly difficult year dealing with a toxic work environment, the after effects of the pandemic, and recalibration of what it means to belong, to a community, family, and personal relationships and friendships. I experienced cyclical episodes of depression leading to complete burnout/collapse.

We worked on a combination of music therapy, EMDR, and IFS. Wen's approach was compassionate, empathetic, and endlessly patient. She worked with my passion for music and helped me with resourcing through various music forms. As for EMDR, it transformed me. I experienced profound peace after our initial sessions. I call it "zen vibes".

My hypochondria reduced a lot- now it feels like a faint whisper. When we started working together, even talking about some of the repetitive and chronically stressful things made me uncomfortable. I had to step back. Wen was endlessly considerate and allowed me to feel my feelings while making me feel safe.

After almost a year of EMDR, I can notice the profound change within me, this includes self-compassion, which I saw as a cognitive construct until that point became something deep and personal. It meant setting boundaries with me in focus, it meant, the shifting of the locus of self-worth to something internal to me, rather than external. I also take things much less personally, I found a great deal of self-acceptance, more than before. Additionally, I'm slightly more conflict-tolerant than my former conflict-averse self.

It is still a work in progress but I've never felt more steady on my feet and more comfortable in my skin as I have since I started working with EMDR. Thank you Wen.

Our family feels very fortunate to have had both Gabriel and Wen work with our son Max over a period spanning multiple years. Max, who has an Autism diagnosis, has a deep appreciation for music. While Gabriel was the Musical Director of the ActionPlay Theater Group and Chorus he had a tremendous influence on Max. In no small part due to his efforts Max continues to perform with this group to this day.

Both Wen and Gabriel also provided 1:1 music instruction on bass guitar and piano, respectively. Max thrived under their tutelage and continues to play to this day.

They both also had an extremely positive impact on Max’s general interpersonal skills development. Music and theater require sophisticated and complex social interactions that can be difficult enough for neuro-typical children, let alone those with neurological disabilities. Gabriel and Wen both had a tremendously positive and constructive impact on Max as he navigated and found his place.

If you are looking for creative services for someone with special needs I really cannot imagine a better potential resource.
