Hi there,
Thank you for being here. I’m Wen, an EMDR-certified trauma specialist, licensed creative arts therapist, musician, immigrant, and a proud mama of three biracial kiddos. My work bridges the worlds of mind, body, and creativity.
What I love most about this work is the connection that unfolds when someone feels truly seen. Whether I’m sitting with an adult processing trauma or in a circle with children making music, I’m always holding space for something real—pain, play, and the possibility of healing.
What I love most about this work is the deep connection that can happen in the therapy room. I hold space for the emotions that feel too big to carry alone, and I celebrate the moments of breakthrough that follow. My approach is experiential and collaborative. Sometimes we talk, sometimes we draw, move, or make music—always guided by curiosity and care.
I integrate EMDR, somatic practices, Internal Family Systems (Inner child/Parts work), and creative arts therapy. These modalities allow us to move beyond words, into the body’s wisdom and your creative, healthy core. This is where lasting healing happens—when we listen to what the body remembers and allow space for what it needs to release.
Many of the people I work with are adult children of emotionally immature or toxic parents, or Asian Americans navigating the complexities of identity, belonging, and transgenerational trauma. Many come to me because they’re ready for something deeper than talk therapy. Others find me simply because talk therapy doesn’t work for them.
I help my clients feel closer to their authentic self—to trust their intuition, to feel safe in their body, and to live in alignment with who they truly are.
I offer online therapy in New York and Texas, and in-person creative arts/music therapy in Austin, as well as groups where music and creativity become the bridge into deeper healing and belonging.
Outside of work, I fill my cup through playing music, spending quality time with friends and family, walking in nature, gardening, yoga, reading, traveling, watching a good show/movie, and practicing fully resting! (It’s hard to truly rest as a mom! Resting is hard for us women in general—but I have to practice what I teach! 🙂 )
These moments of play and rest help me stay grounded and connected to the same things I support my clients in cultivating—presence, creativity, and compassion for the parts of us that just need to breathe.
If you’re ready to explore what healing might look like for you, I’d love to connect~

As a Music Therapist, I practice through Nordoff-Robbins Approach
The Nordoff-Robbins approach is a deeply humanistic and creative form of music therapy, founded on the belief that music can bypass diagnoses and limitations to reach the healthy core of every individual. Through live, improvised music—using instruments, voice, and rhythm—the therapist collaborates with the client to create a musical experience uniquely tailored to them.
In this affirming and creative process, children experience themselves as capable—able to express their feelings, make meaningful connections, and be truly seen and celebrated. These moments nurture a confident sense of self and build the courage to take risks, grow, and thrive.
This approach focuses on strengths rather than limitations, helping clients of all ages express themselves, build confidence, and foster emotional, social, and cognitive growth. Whether working with children with developmental differences, adults facing mental health challenges, or seniors with dementia, the Nordoff-Robbins method offers a safe and empowering space where music becomes a bridge to healing, connection, and joy.As a music therapist, I’ve had the privilege of working with people across the lifespan—from fragile premature infants in the NICU, to neurodiverse children, emotionally struggling teens, anxious adults, and seniors living with dementia. Again and again, I have witnessed music’s profound power to reach beyond diagnoses and limitations, touching the healthy core and essence of each person I serve.
To me, music therapy is a deeply human and sacred practice. It nurtures, empowers, and has the capacity to ignite joy, foster meaningful connection, and support healing at the very heart of who we are.
My Work Weaves Together Science and Soul.
I specialize in helping people heal from acute and developmental trauma—supporting the nervous system, transforming self-beliefs, and gently shifting emotional and relational patterns that were once about survival.
When trauma isn’t processed, it gets stored in the body. It can show up as chronic pain, anxiety, depression, insomnia, TMJ, digestive issues, or a constant feeling of being unsafe—even when life looks okay on the outside.
I blend EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, and expressive arts. This means we don’t just talk about your experiences—we listen to your body, your parts, your inner knowing. We move at your pace, with curiosity and care.
Healing with me might look like:
- Go beyond just talking about what happened
- Connect with the younger parts of you that are still stuck in the past
- Use your body’s own wisdom to release stored trauma
- Gently build safety, clarity, and self-trust from the inside out
- Mapping the protective parts of you that carry pain and perfectionism
- Using gentle bilateral stimulation (like tapping) to reprocess trauma
- Singing, drawing, or moving when words feel too hard or are not enough
- Learning to feel your feelings without getting swallowed by them
It’s deep work—but it doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. There’s room here for play, creativity, and breath.
Why This Work Feels Sacred
I marvel at how often, after my sessions, I am filled with deep gratitude and reverance for the people I work with. To witness someone’s life story—their pain, their courage, resilience, and their breakthroughs- is a profound honor. Holding space where my clients feel safe enough to face fears, release shame, reconnect with their inner child, and celebrate breakthroughs both big and small, is work I cherish deeply.
I hold great love and respect for every person I’ve had the honor of walking alongside. This work feels sacred to me, and I am truly grateful each time someone invites me into their inner world. If you’re ready, this is where your journey back to wholeness begins—and I will be with you every step of the way.
